This lovely fair trade bi-plane is constructed using offcuts of wood and stained to bring out the grain. Made by craftsmen in Bali this fair trade bi-plane would make a great gift for anyone who is into planes or the bygone era.

Not suitable as a toy. Measures around 17cm long x 14cm wide x 7cm high.

The importer of this fair trade bi-plane is a member of BAFTS and has a direct trading policy. They visit the poorer regions of the world, such as Indonesia, Nepal, Peru and the Amazon, in search of quality crafts. Once found they pay a fair price, often making advance payments to enable the craftsman or artist to purchase raw materials. This direct trading policy currently provides well paid regular employment for about 200 families.
